Kevin Routh New #2 Man In Springfield Police Department
The Springfield P.D. will promote one of it’s own to the position of Police Major, the second highest rank in the department, reporting directly to the Chief of Police.
Police Lieutenant Kevin Routh has been employed with the Springfield Police Department since 1986. During his tenure, he has held almost every position within the police department, from Cadet to Reserve Officer, and then through the ranks as Detention officer, Patrol Officer, Corporal, Sergeant, Lieutenant and effective July 6th, Major.
Routh has also served in a variety of specialized assignments including the Special Response Team, Major Crimes Response Team, Crime and Vice Unit and the Community Oriented Police Section.
Once promoted, Routh will be assigned to the Investigations Division.
