Disabled Woman Tortured To Death

22 03 2008

I try to keep most stories about the Springfield area but this story from CNN just disgusted me beyond measure.  A 29 year old mentally challenged pregnant woman was tortured to death.  This part of the CNN story was especially disturbing:

Hayes watched the autopsy and found her injuries disturbing. X-rays revealed roughly 30 BBs lodged in her. Deep-tissue burns covered about one-third of her body — her face, her chest, her arms and feet — and left her severely dehydrated. Her face and body showed signs of prolonged abuse. Many of her wounds were infected.

Isn’t there someone in the government assigned to keep an eye on someone like this woman?   Where was the dead woman’s sister when all of this was going on?  This wasn’t a situation that popped up over night or even in just a matter of weeks.  This was ongoing process.

This is one of the things I always worry about in regards to my autistic son.  There are many people out there who will take advantage of humans with mental challenges and think nothing of it.  They see them as less than human and someone who should be serving them or doing things that they would have commanded a slave years ago.  (According to the story, the woman “in charge” considered the dead woman as her slave.)  This is one of those times where I shake my head at the lack of responsibilities that people should have for their families…there’s no reason this dead woman should have been put into this situation in the first place.

When found guilty the criminals should face the same type of punishment they dealt out to the victim until death. I’m sure volunteers can be found to administer the punishment.

I wholeheartedly agree with one of the comments that the same type of punishment must be applied to these criminals. I believe in “an eye for an eye” type of punishment as this is the only way that would deter these evil monsters. They should go through the same types of torture but not allowed to die, and I don’t really care if one of them is only 12 years old. Why should taxpayers support these lowlifes in jail (shelter/food/clothing/education) when they did not even accord the same type of treatment to this poor woman, and her unborn child (who did not even have a chance to live). It’s utterly despicable and I for one believe that they should be severely punished.

This is one of the most stomach-twisting news stories I’ve read or seen in quite some time. It brings back visions of some stuff we saw in Iraq.

The article said the neighbors witnessed some of this. I hope they get prosecuted for not reporting it. Also, the ringleader used to have a job working with the developmentally disabled. Who the f*ck screens these people??

I’m disabled, and I live in disabled housing. Most of you would not believe the treatment we have suffered at the hands of Housing Administrators, Resident Managers, our siblings and various others…. I am not the least surprised that this Riley woman had a position as some sort of housing caseworker. We know her kind on sight; that’s how common it is. The next time you get curious, do me a favor, would you? Go to your nearest HUD office and take note of the kind of attitude you run across and the kind of people who give it to you. And if that’s not convincing enough, find 10 disabled people in the public housing nearest you (living on “disability” doesn’t enable you to live in a private apartment complex), and ask them where their family is. The story is always the same. We are “throwaways”.

I came to comment on this terrible story, but first I must just say to the poster above me how very sorry I am that she has experienced such abusive treatment and abandonment because of disability. Were you here, I would hug you and tell you so in person. You deserve love and care, not hardness and disrespect.

The story of Dorothy Dixon has outraged me in so many aspects: that nobody from Social Services had been checking on her or her infant son, that these people abused her and her innocent mind could not protect herself from them, that the perpetrators involved their children in these evil acts. Two generations of monsters committed these acts. They were also starving her infant son. There is no suitable punishment for this kind of monstrous behavior. And the younger people will go through the juvenile system and will get out and their vacant souls will go on to commit more victimizations and violence. I pray the people who did this get what we all know they deserve. And I pray that this starved little boy goes on to be loved and cared for by someone and never knows pain again. Rest in peace, Dorothy Dixon. I am sorry nobody came to your rescue.

Why is it that whenever something like this occurs, the ring leader is some fat ugly bitch that looks like white meth addicted trash?
That cow should have her fat cut off slowly, doused with gasoline, and set on fire. Same for the rest of them.
