Are you someone who is interested in how the City of Springfield operates? Tired of basing your opinion on what happens with our government on TV reports, newspaper articles, talk show ranters or internet blogs? Then apply to be a part of City University’s Municipal Government Academy that’s starting on February 26th. It’s a ten week class that meets on Tuesday nights and goes through all aspects of the city government experience. This would be a good class if you want to get more involved in the political and governmental process of the city like being involved in boards and committees or even running for City Council.
The cost is free but the registration deadline is coming up February 20th. Click here to find out more details from the city’s website, CityConnect. I’ve applied and I hope I get in. (No, I won’t be live blogging from the sessions but I will likely post my thoughts about each one after I attend.)
