I’ve had half a dozen e-mails and messages from people wondering why I’m not posting on this blog about the interview with Tamara Finocchiaro of Pythian Castle that was missing from the podcasts of the Vincent David Jericho show. While I didn’t hear it, apparently Ms. Finocchiaro was on KSGF to discuss the city’s response to her documents and questions to council by her and her supporters. The e-mails said this segment of Vince’s show was missing from the podcast of that day and they were wondering what Vince had to hide that he wasn’t putting the interview in with the rest of the podcast.
OK, understandable question. If the city had a segment of a meeting that was missing containing info on a hot button issue like the Castle Vince would be one of the first screaming on the radio about the missing information. It’s only logical that people would hold him to the same standard even though he’s just a talk show host who doesn’t fall under the Sunshine laws so in reality the standard is different to a degree. (Accountability all around is good for everyone.)
As many know, Vince is no fan of this blog and has made many disparaging remarks about it and me. Still, I have to stand up and defend him a little on this situation. While I did e-mail him about the situation to get a defined reason for the interview not being on the podcast (to which he did not respond) I will be willing to state that it was likely a mechanical or recording error that happens in radio. In over twenty years of broadcasting, I can think easily of a dozen times when I did an interview or phone call or segment that I thought was really good only to look at the recorder and see it’s still on pause or that I hit stop instead of record. These things just happen sometimes.
There is NO reason why Vince wouldn’t want to put that interview up on the KSGF site. None. He wants attention for his show and the website and we all know that an interview with the owner of Pythian Castle on the heels of the city’s response to her would be a well listened to segment of the podcast. While I can’t confirm it from Vince, I will go out on a limb and say that this was not done intentionally or to hide anything from the people who felt that those trumpeting the Pythian Castle’s case were out of line. This is just like when you gave the benefit of the doubt to the city that the delay in getting the information was related to a staff member being out on vacation. Given that there is no valid reason for Vince not to post that interview, you have to give him the benefit of the doubt that it was a technical problem.
Criticize him all you want for his on-air statements or his other public actions. This time, you should really give him the benefit of the doubt.

As to the interview it wasn’t that great or controversial.
As to the podcast I forgot to hit the record button. I’ve done it before and will do it again. To do a show like mine we should have at least one more person in the control room. We do the best we can with what we have.
Yeah, how horrible it was of me to notify her that several people in town were wondering if you were deliberately withholding information and ask the producer of your program what had happened. Especially after you asked me not to e-mail you any longer.

He defends you and you blast him, yeah, that seems appropriate.
VDJ you told Jason to stop emailing you several weeks ago. Yet you expect him to go out on a limb to protect YOUR reputation.

You guys act like two children in a sandbox that are hellbent on not playing with each other, and neither one of you is going to leave the sandbox.
Man I really don’t see the issue. As a defender of the first amendment I’m in favor of getting as much info out to the people as possible without misleading them in any direction. It appears that the subject of VD Jericho isn’t allowed to be discussed by anyone except Vince.
I harbor no animosity toward either one of you, but if you have people asking about certain issues then I would expect for you to make an honest attempt to answer the questions, even if it means sending an e-mail to get the info directly from the source.
Here is what I don’t understand. If people in the community were SO worried about what happened to the podcast (like you suggested) why did they run around like sneaky weasels and ask you what happened when they could have gone a much easier route and directly to the source- me (or Vince). I am pretty sure everyone knows how to get a hold of me… it’s not like my information isn’t on the stations website!!
Plus, I mean if Vince honestly had something to hide when it came to the interview with Tamara, and the Pythian Castle, why in the world would he have had her on the show LIVE? It’s not like people didn’t have the opportunity to listen then. I just really don’t understand how such a measly issue became such a huge mess???
Remember this: The podcast is on the website simply as a BENEFIT to the community, it is not an OBLIGATION!

I know what you mean. Maybe the people who contacted me don’t like Vince.
I know that you wouldn’t lie to someone about the situation and that you’re incredibly trustworthy. That’s why I contacted you about it in the first place.
If I had to guess as to why it’s an issue it might be because he’s made Pythian Castle such a big issue and when the report dropped that didn’t make Tamara look good those who were supporting the city were watching to see his response.
I agree with you that the podcast is a benefit and not an obligation. It’s certainly something that gives you a benefit over your competition at KWTO.

I clearly state that any and all individuals when writing an article such as this should make every attempt to answer the question as honestly as possible, the ending of that statement is just a simple statement on how one should go about getting clarification.
The ending statement wasn’t directed at you since you had already pointed out that you had fired off an e-mail. Sometimes it is best to go back and reread something before trying to come to a conclusion which wasn’t intended.
Sorry about that, Tom. Since the crux of Vince’s argument was that I didn’t send an e-mail (which obviously from the picture I did) that I made the assumption you were referring to his argument in that last section of your statement.

Jason posts a photo that shows a photo was sent.
Vince then posts “Given that I left before 2 o’clock for an outside appointment I say again I did not get your email. You assumed because you sent it that I was there to receive it. I was not.”
So you go from saying it was never sent and trying to smear Jason by claiming he didn’t send one after saying he did to then saying that you didn’t get it because you had an appointment that conveniently out of the office.
You even say “I say again I did not get your e-mail” when you never said that in your earlier post. You said that he didn’t send one.
And, if you didn’t return that e-mail, then Jason told the truth again in saying you didn’t return the e-mail. The fact you weren’t there at 2pm when it was sent doesn’t mean that you returned it.
Your false posts are here for the world to see, Vince. Why not just apologize?
Look doofus. I did NOT get the email. When I wrote the first email claiming such I was at home. I did not get an email before I left the office. Jason sent it after I left SO I did NOT get the email. For the record I STILL do not have the email.
