A want to give a big “THANK YOU” to Dave Snider of KY3!
My son Dale loves the weather and announced to me that he wanted to be a meteorologist so he could join the KY3 Storm Team. I contacted Dave Snider at KY3 to ask if he would be willing to let Dale peek in and see where the KY3 Storm Team works. Dave went above and beyond the call with Dale.
Not only did he let Dale see the studio but he also showed him how they do the forecast on the broadcast, showed Dale how they build the forecasts and explained to him some of the trickier things about weather and forecasting. Then he let Dale sit just a few feet away while he did the weather on tonight’s 6pm telecast.
Dave, Dale was smiling so much I thought he would swallow his ears. He literally ran to the car so he could call his Grandma and Papa Jim to tell them that he got to see “where the storm team works.” It was greatly appreciated by me as well. (I sent an e-mail to Mrs. Dave and I hope you two will accept what was in that e-mail.)
So, KY3, remember that in 2022 you will have a very eager young meteorologist knocking at the door! Dave should be ready for retirement by then. (Ned will probably still be going strong, though.)
This is a wonderful post, the love you have for Dale is quite evident. I am glad for you.
